I'm back with an updated review. Stopped by on Christmas Day, night to be specific, and it was super busy ! Not much of a line outside but the drive thru was fairly long. Nonetheless, like before, I received great service. The man taking my order was very kind. I ordered 1 barbacoa taco and 1 grilled fish taco on flour tortillas. As expected, there was a bit of a wait. No big deal because the line was long and it was Christmas. This time around my food was delicious! Seasoned well and was super filling. The portions were pretty large as well. I was super pleased. I think another reviewer mentioned improvements have been made and I definitely agree. Thank you to The Taco Stand team for a delicious meal this holiday season.

I'm back with a follow up review after I left a 1 star review about my previous experience at the Taco Stand. Basically, my google review stated that they forgot one of my tacos in my order, elote was bad, flour tortilla was undercooked, and a few more concerns. However, I respect the management of this business by exhibiting the epitome of great customer service. They take customers concerns seriously, they try to satisfy the customer, and then attempt to solve the issue. I went today to the taco stand around the same time as my previous visit and I witnessed management retraining/training cooks. I told my partner: "I know my food about to be fire" and it was! I enjoyed my food today. My partner didn't like that the potatoes were largely cubed and the coke being flat in the drive through is a reoccurring problem.

I have been eating here for about a year and it is always wonderful! Very fresh food and consistent quality. The carne asada, shrimp and carnitas tacos are all really good...actually excellent! The portions are large and priced really well. The service is fast and on point! The restaurant is very clean, inviting and a comfortable place to grab lunch. Give them a try, you will not be disappointed!

We grabbed breakfast tacos at the drive-through at The Taco Stand, and they were great! The tortillas were clearly homemade, and I really liked how they mixed in big pieces of bacon into the scrambled eggs, rather than just throwing once piece of bacon on top of the eggs. And it's so nice that The Taco Stand opens so early--we were able to go there before 7am on a Saturday, which was great.

After flying in from chilly Minnesota, the Taco Stand is the standard first stop when visiting family here. A well-shaded patio with lots of fans is the perfect setting to greet Houston in her more temperate moods. The tacos are good! Normally I would go for a classic street taco corn tortilla, but their flour tortillas are especially fresh. The el pastor was delicious; and I will be back next time for more of the delicious chips and queso and another frozen margarita!!! Oh and they have a nice selection of sauces and garnishes - a trait of the best "taco stands." But that's not to comment on how it stands up against the taco competition, there is a lot of it. Maybe it's not a top foodie spot - and if you're a taco enthusiast this is just one choice of many. but a terrific patio lunch for sure. PS: there's also a place called The Burger Joint, and The Car Wash, both within a block ... what "The" will Houston Heights get next? "The Ice Cream Parlor," "The Pizza Shoppe," or "The Mezcal Den" ??
